I love finding new things for my classroom and of course I try to save money as much as I can. My favorite places to find thrifty things for my classroom are Dollar Tree, Target Dollar Spot, and Craig's List. I really do love finding good deals! What teacher doesn't?!?!
My all time favorite thrifty find has been my school rocking chair. It was actually a hand me down from my grandma but it needed some love to match my classroom decor.
My husband tightened all of the screws and then I decided to go with a teal spray paint. We covered it with two coats of spray paint and let it dry over-night.
I can sew a little but recovering the cushions was a little out of my sewing comfort zone, especially since the cushions were oddly shaped, so I found this patio chair cushion at Garden Ridge (now At Home) for just $5! I'm pretty proud of the way it turned out.
I loved the spray paint color so much, that I decided to spray paint my metal big book tub too.
I know that everyone is just loving the Target Dollar Spot right now, so I wanted to share my latest finds. One of the things on my summer to-do list was to re-label my math and supply tubs. I found these chalkboard labels for just a $1. I have so many ideas for these chalkboard labels.
My last Target Dollar Spot find is this awesome clip strip. My kids are always forgetting their names on their papers, and I thought it would be a great place to hang no name work to be claimed.
I was thinking they would also be great to display student work in my classroom. Oh the possibilities! I'm in love with this clip strip.
I've been super blessed to be a part of the Elementary Entourage and even more blessed lately because our family is growing! These teachers are super talented and I'm looking forward to reading their posts.
