I am so excited to share with you my favorite author Mark Teague! I love an author who also illustrates his own books... that level of talent is just amazing to me. There isn't a book by Teague that I have found that I didn't LOVE. Some of my favorites are Dear Ms. LaRue, One Halloween Night, and Pigsty.
My all time favorite is "What I Did on My Summer Vacation." I love it because you can do so many activities with it... use it at the end of the year to start getting kids excited about summer or at the beginning of the school year as a writing prompt.
I like to create sub plans to go with picture books. I try to tie in comprehension, story elements, math and more to one book. Once book with tons of activities to fill up the whole day. I also include some pages to help with quick planning...
