I love this time of the year! It's really hard for me to believe that we are talking all things turkey time traditions, but here we are!
After we read the story, I explain to the students that we are going to be disguising our own turkey! Here are some of the pieces of the unit. There are graphic organizers, example cards, and a turkey for disguising!
The kids go crazy for these example cards. I have them laminated and have been showing them for years now! I just place them under my document camera, or, hold one in my hand and describe the costume. Then, the students have to guess what it is! These example cards help the students brainstorm some ideas for what they would like to disguise their turkey as!
After the students bring the turkeys back to school, we share them. Here are some examples from this year. Don't you just LOVE these??!
One student even put his in a shoe box, which was fine by me! He said the snow needed to be kept in the box. How cute!
We also take the time to write about how we kept our turkeys safe (AKA disguising the turkey). If you are interested in this pack, you can get it -----> HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by to see my all time favorite turkey time tradition! Stop by tomorrow to see another one!
